From September 26, 2016 on the first WWTF ESR Pilot Call 2017 is open. Submission deadline for short proposals is January 19, 2017 at 2pm.
Environmental Systems Research: Urban Environments 2017 is a pilot project call of the Vienna Science and Technology Fund (WWTF) that addresses universities and non-university research institutions as well as scientists and researchers in Vienna, including those moving to Vienna as a result of this call, who want to conduct a cutting-edge research project in the field of environmental systems research over several years (2-4 years) with a major focus on urban environments.
Proposals must be interdisciplinary in nature, should tackle highly socially relevant questions in the field of urban environments and bring together researchers from different scientific disciplines in order to foster interactive partnerships across Vienna.
Partnerships across facilities and institutions in Vienna are highly welcome.
A total of € 4 million will be dedicated to this call. The funding range per project is € 200.000-650.000.
In this call a two-stage submission process is used. First a short proposal is submitted describing the key objectives and motivation for the proposed work. Second, if the short proposal is successful, the applicants are invited to submit a full proposal by May 18, 2017 at 2pm. The funding decision will be made in September 2017.
