Vienna Research Groups 2010
"Life Sciences"
12.01.2010 - 09.08.2010
Vienna Research Groups for Young Investigators are an instrument jointly designed by the City of Vienna and the WWTF to promote talent in scientific fields of importance to Vienna. We aim to attract top talent to Vienna and help to attach them to research organisations in a long-term relationship. Further to WWTF’s sponsored science chairs, the Vienna Research Groups provide another instrument to succeed in an increasingly brisk international contest for scientific locations.
Now WWTF launches its first call within this scheme within its Life Sciences program. This call is issued for up to two positions. It addresses Vienna-based research institutions that intend to hire an excellent young researcher from abroad for the set-up and management of an independent Life Sciences research group. Moreover, the Vienna Science and Technology Fund especially ask applying institutions to present strategies to avoid gender biases within their selection processes.
WWTF in total grants 1.5 Mio. € per research group for six to eight years. Overall budget is 3 Mio. €. Deadline for short proposals is April 7, 2010, deadline for full proposals is May 27, 2010. Decisions are expected in September 2010.
