"Linking Research and Patients' Needs"

From September 22, 2010 onwards the WWTF “Linking Research and Patients’ Needs Call” 2011 will be open; deadline for submission of proposals will be January 25, 2011 at 2pm.
This project call within our Life Sciences programme focussing on “Linking Research with Patients’ Needs” addresses

- Viennese Universities and non-university research institutions as well as scientists and researchers in Vienna, including researchers moving to Vienna as a result of this call,

- that would like to investigate a multi-annual (2-4 years) scientific project at the interface between basic and clinical research and building on a clear hypothesis.

- Moreover projects should include a clear statement on medium term social and/or economic benefits.

In total 5 Mio € of funding have been dedicated to this call. Proposals can be submitted until January 25, 2011 at 2pm. For more information on the call please refer to the focus and key facts. As long as the call will be open, WWTF offers a weekly “jour fixe” for personal consultation on the call as well as on WWTF’s funding requirements: each Wednesday, 2-4 pm in the WWTF office (1090 Vienna, Währingerstr. 3/15a).

Additionally, WWTF organizes "Proposers' Days" on Universities and PROs interested in this call. For dates and locations, please regularly check our webpage:
- Medical University of Vienna: on 4th of November 2010, from 3-5 pm (HS4 Hörsaalzentrum des AKH/ 8. Stock)
- University of Veterinary Medicine: on 8th of November 2010, from 2-4 pm (Festsaalerweiterung Veterinärmedizinische Universität)
- Vienna Biocenter (MFPL, IMP, IMBA): on 16th of November 2010, from 2-4 pm (IMP Lecture Hall)
